Dr. Al-Haroon is a consultant in obstetrics, gynecology and infertility. She graduated from Basrah Medical College in 1993, earned a higher diploma in obstetrics and gynecology from the University of Basrah in 2000, and the Arab Board for Health Specializations in 2007.
She worked at the maternity and children's hospital, and obtained a diploma in laparoscopic surgery from India in 2007, with authorization from the Ministry of Health.
She holds a training certificate in ultrasound (2008) and has completed training courses in infertility and IVF.
She has taken part in teaching medical students and now supervises Arab Board postgraduate students, as well as family medicine and clinical pharmacy students.
