Who we are
The International Hospital of Obstetrics & Gynecology (IHOG) is a specialist hospital in Basra that opened in 2026. We offer obstetric and gynecological care, fertility and IVF treatment, and care for babies and children.
We have 30 beds, and our team includes consultants and university professors with experience in Iraq, across the Arab world and internationally.
Our departments
- Fertility & IVF: IVF, ICSI and genetic testing of embryos.
- Obstetrics & Gynecology: pregnancy care, birth and 4D ultrasound.
- Male Infertility: finding and treating the causes of male infertility.
- Children & Newborns: newborn care and a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
- Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP): a treatment made from your own blood.
- Delivery Suite: open 24 hours a day for every birth, whether or not you had your pregnancy care with us.
Our facilities
- Three operating theatres for caesarean sections and gynecological surgery.
- A neonatal unit with incubators and modern ventilators, run by newborn specialists.
- An embryology lab and a genetic testing lab.
- The latest medical equipment and technology.
- A dedicated backup power supply for the operating theatres, and safety systems in every department.
How to book
To book, call our reception team or message them on WhatsApp. They will match you with the right consultant, and that same consultant will look after you from your first visit until your treatment ends. If you are in labour, come straight to the delivery suite. You don't need an appointment.
